Comprehensive Financial Plan
“If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”
- Benjamin Franklin
Stop worrying about your financial life! Engage with a financial professional to receive unbiased advice through a comprehensive financial plan. This holistic plan covers all elements of your financial life through a simple 4-step process.
Step 1 - Find Your Why

The first step in the planning process is developing your ‘Why’ factor. This will serve as the motivation for every aspect of your plan. You will complete two exercises (Financial Perspectives & Find Your Why surveys) followed by a 60-minute meeting to discuss your results and begin working your dreams into your plan.

Step 2 - Financial Baseline
The second step is gathering your current financial data. A Document Checklist will be provided to help gather all pertinent information. Right Capital (financial planning software) will be used to securely link accounts or upload documents for evaluation. Another meeting (60-90 minutes) will be held to confirm initial data inputs.
Step 3 - Invest & Budget

For the third step, you will complete an Investor Profile survey to determine your risk tolerance and attitudes toward investing. We will dive into your budget with tips and tricks you may not have considered before. We will have a 60-90 minute meeting to review your investments and budget as well as provide some education on these items.

Step 4 - Plan Review
During the fourth step, Rooted Interest will analyze your current financial situation and determine appropriate recommendations. A final 60-90 minute meeting will be held to review your Financial Plan, Summary, and Implementation Guide.
Fee: $2,000 - $3,000

Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I consider a Comprehensive Financial Plan?
In its Value of Financial Planning* study, the Financial Planning Standards Council found those who had engaged in comprehensive financial planning reported “significantly higher levels of financial and emotional well-being than those who do no planning or limited planning.” They felt the most comfortable about their finances and were confident in achieving their life goals.

How long does it take to complete a Comprehensive Financial Plan?
It depends! The timeline for completion is typically 1-3 months depending on how organized you are, how quick you are able to complete various tasks, and meeting availability.
How is the fee paid?
The fee is paid through our payment provider, AdvicePay, or by mailing a check to our office.
Is the fee due all at once?
Half of the fee is due upon starting the engagement with the other half due upon completion of the plan.
What if I want to make changes to my plan?
This is your plan so it should reflect what you want. If additional adjustments are needed after Step 4, Rooted Interest will update the plan, modify recommendations, and present an updated plan in a brief meeting. Rooted Interest will help with implementation tasks (where possible) for up to one month after plan delivery. Once the month has lapsed, updates to your plan can be made with an Hourly Financial Planning engagement.
